Snow
Services/Contract Types
PER
PUSH
Is a
price of clearing total snow accumulations at the time we
visit. You are charged according to the depth of snow at the
time of our arrival. Per push usually means we will return
multiple times during a snow/ice event and you will be billed
for each visit. This service provides a safer environment for
your tenants. This is the quote provided to you and is our
recommendation for your site because of the great number of
tenants.
PER STORM
Is a price of clearing total snow
accumulations during a 24-hour period. You are charged
according to total depth of a snow/ice event. We will return
multiple times during an event if it is a large storm. During
a small storm, we will wait until the storm is over. This is
our system of invoicing for residential homes or commercial
buildings with employees only. We do not use this procedure
for any establishment that has customers or tenants; it would
be too much of a liability risk.
PER HOUR
Is a price for clearing total
snow accumulations by tracking total hours spent at a site.
Each person and piece of equipment will have a pre-determined
price. This price structure is not to the advantage of the
customer unless you have an on-site supervisor that can direct
the hourly employees; therefore increasing efficiency. This
price has a minimum and travel time
charge.
PER SEASON
Is a price for all-inclusive
services for each season. This price is based upon a
three-year contract. The service quality will be on the level
of the "per push" definition. The annual contract is the most
cost effective. It allows easier budgeting for both parties.
Annual contracts run from December 1 to May 1.
When deciding, please keep
in mind that the typical Northern New Jersey average is 43"
with 10 events of snow and multiple ice
events
.
Professional service providers
may not the lower bidder, but remember that they
are:
1. Maintaining insurance,
payroll taxes, overhead and reinvesting
intotheir business
2.Committed to service and quality
3. Keep their equipment
operable and purchase the necessary
products to maintain their
accounts and grow their business
4. Are normally members of a
trade association that keeps them
abreast of the ever-changing
industry.
5.
If
you receive a low bid, use caution. The business may
not
beproperly insured and if they are
underbidding the market, they probably won’t be around for long
as they won’t have the cash flow necessary to survive. Don’t be
fooled by a fly-by-night
operation. |
